Corrupt CD Reports

From Kevin, Dallas, Texas
Copying: The new Elvis CD, "Second To None" was released in the USA on Oct. 7. BMG is promoting this one big time. I purchased it, and discovered it would not play in my car's CD player. I exchanged it twice, with the same defective results.

It will play on my home stereo, but not in my car. I believe this CD is a dud. What are your thoughts? Is this some sort of copy protection problem? Or Table on Contents error? Or perhaps a bug in the CD-ROM auto launch feature which is supposed to connect one's PC to the BMG website?

From David, Biloxi, Mississippi
Copying: I took the cd back 2 times. It will not play in my car (03 Mustang) factory installed CD player or ANY of my home stero systems. It will play on my computer!

Follow-up: There seems to be a very obvious problem with the Elvis 2nd to None CD playing in car stereos. Looking at the comments on amazon.com about this CD in car systems this is a widespread problem.

From a BMG Rep, USA
Dear Sir/Madam,
Yes this was copyprotected. Could you confirm what car this will not play in so I can investigate for you?
Kind regards, Stuart

From a BMG Rep, USA, (Follow-up)
Unfortunately, we have had a small number of people experiencing a similar problem with their car Stereo's. We are currently compiling a list for our manufacturers of all the problems consumers are experiencing, so that the playability can be improved on future generations of the software. I have passed your car details on to them so they can investigate.

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you and please be assured we are working hard for a solution that will ensure the cds play in all car stereo's. Should we get a version of this album that will play in your car we will contact you again.
